Pasión de Buena Vista Returns to Finland with a New Show!
The legendary Cuban group Pasión de Buena Vista, which has attracted over 800,000 viewers in 35 countries worldwide, will tour Finland in the spring with a brand-new show. This mesmerizing performance of music and passionate dance will be seen in Kuopio, Jyväskylä, Lappeenranta, Mikkeli, Pori, Lahti, Helsinki and Tampere.
Hot rhythms, inspiring melodies, and exotically beautiful dances, combined with over 150 custom-made costumes, will take the audience on an exciting journey through a Cuban night!
The Pasión de Buena Vista show is filled with the magic of Cuban melodies. Nothing represents the culture of this Caribbean island better than music and dance! Pasión de Buena Vista is an excellent way to get to know Cuba and its passionate yet leisurely cheerful atmosphere. The show covers the entire spectrum of the island’s music, from mambo rhythms and cha-cha-cha to the so-called Afro-Cuban salsa.
The music accompanying the performance is composed for percussion instruments, such as drums, cymbals, and conga drums, as well as wind instruments like horns and trumpets. They are complemented by the piano, bass, and the typical Latin American guitar. Alongside the musicians, talented singers perform stunning solos multiple times throughout the show. The first-class dancers, who have repeatedly demonstrated their mastery of traditional dance in Havana performances, bring a special charm to the stage. The group showcases traditional Cuban styles, especially the hugely popular “Son Cubano”, which originated among sugarcane workers in the 1920s and later contributed to the rise of modern salsa.
Over the years, the Cuban upper class rejected the so-called “Danzón,” but it has now become one of the most popular dance styles, leading to the cha-cha-cha, rumba, and mambo of the mid-20th century.
