THE EVENT HAS ENDED
The Moscow Ballet Theater brings the beloved masterpiece of ballet to Finland. The timeless story of Joutsenlammi exudes romance, tragedy and the power of change.
The unprecedented beauty of Joutsenlammi has delighted viewers from around the world for two hundred years.
The most famous ballet performance of all time is interpreted by the Bolshoi Theater's skilled prima dancers. The performance of The Moscow Ballet Theater will be seen in February in Porvoo, Helsinki and Lahti.
A masterpiece of romance
The love between Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette makes the viewer feel strongly involved in the great emotions of the story. The witch has cast a spell on Odette, because of which Odette floats during the day as a swan in a lake of tears. He spends the nights as himself, in the charming form of a woman. The spell can only be broken by true love, which the witch does her best to prevent. Will the lovers find each other in the end?
The best of Russian ballet art
The classic, based on Pyotr Tchaikovsky's great compositions, premiered at the Bolshoi Theater in 1877. Even then, only the brightest and most skilled dancers were qualified for the roles.
The ballet troupe of The Moscow Ballet Theater captures the magical atmosphere of Joutsenlammi. The main roles feature the Bolshoi's brightest stars: the world-famous prima ballerina Nina Kaptsova, acclaimed first dancer Alexander Volchkov. Only prima ballerina Nina Kaptsova will perform in Porvoo.
Tchaikovsky's impressive music will be heard in the performance from a recording, as the tour schedule is too busy for a full orchestra. Famous masters Marius Petipa, Lev Ivanov and Anatoly Emelianov are responsible for the choreography.
