The "Cinderella" ballet, based on Charles Perrault's captivating fairy tale, will be performed at Helsinki's Finlandia Hall on Saturday, February 15, 2020. The classic tale is brought to life by The Moscow Ballet Theatre's troupe, whose skilled dancing, stunning sets, and costumes breathe new life into the story.
A Familiar Story Full of Joy and Dreams
In this beloved tale, Cinderella's splendid carriage turns into a pumpkin at midnight, and her glass slipper is left behind in haste on the palace steps. The prince finds the rightful owner of the shoe, and Cinderella is freed from the tyranny of her wicked stepmother and dreadful stepsisters. Dreams of a better life come true.
"Cinderella" offers a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to the magic of classical ballet. The story, sparkling with humor and romance, stirs nostalgia in adults for their childhood years and pure joy in children.
The Brightest Star of the Bolshoi
Alongside classical ballet, audiences will enjoy a touch of modern dance. The lead role will be performed by Bolshoi Ballet star Anastasia Goryacheva. She is among the most charming soloists of the Bolshoi, known for her exceptional grace and artistry.
The story unfolds to the beloved music of Sergei Prokofiev. Prokofiev's compositions will be played from a recording due to the tight touring schedule, which makes it impossible to include a full orchestra. The choreography is by The Moscow Ballet Theatre's award-winning master Anatoly Emelyanov.
